When we commenced racing in 2000 with our Austin 7 Mason Special, he was a great help to my whole family in getting us started and spent a lot of time helping us to understand what was going on and how to approach racing. He was very quick when he used to race and I often got in his way when lapping me. Roger was a great friend to the 750 Trophy and Austin 7 Triple Challenge racing series and was always ready to help with advice and his copious supply of spares. In addition to his interest in motor racing, he was also a keen pilot and had an airstrip next to his house.
