Hello everyone,

Can someone tell me if being on a volunteer dept. equals a firefighter 1? I am considering starting a career in firefighting. I'm 30 yrs old, wife, mortgage, 3 kids. I am not able to do pre-service due to time off work.

Any suggestions?
